Ireland's Paul Dunne and Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell both enjoyed solid opening rounds to the HNA Open de France at Le Golf National in Paris on Thursday.
The event has sparked interest among European players in particular as it will also host next year's Ryder Cup.
McDowell posted four birdies and two bogies on his way to carding a two-under round of 69.

Dunne posted a first round of 70 which included three birdies and two bogies to leave him on one-under.
England's Paul Waring leads the way on seven-under after shooting a flawless round of 64 which included seven birdies.

He has a two stroke lead over Nathan Kimsey, Alexander Bjork and Thomas Pieters who sit on five-under.
Other notable scores include Alex Noren and Martin Kaymer who both posted two-under par opening rounds while Danny Willett sits on one-over.
Darren Clarke shot a highly disappointing first round of thirteen-over - including a quintuple bogey on the par-4 18th.
