Shane Lowry is four shots off the lead after his opening round at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
Lowry carded a 3-under par 69 today, which leaves him well placed behind Australian Scott Hend and Y.E Yang of Korea, who share the lead on 7-under par.
Lowry says he was pleased with the start to his challenge for the week.
"It's always nice to shoot a good score in the first round here and get yourself into the tournament. I like it around here and I played lovely for the first 12 holes and had a slip up on 13 and 14 but I bounced back really nicely with a birdie on 15 and 18 which was nice. That putt on the last was very big for me. It was nice to shoot in the 60s round here again.
