Scott Evans advances to the quarter finals in Baku

Scott Evans remains on course to win a medal at the European Games. The number one seed in the Men's Badminton tournament defeated Bulgarian Blagovest Kisyov 21-6, 21-13 to reach the last eight.

After disappointingly missing out on the last 16 in the Women's draw, Chloe Magee has advanced to the quarter finals of the Mixed Doubles with her brother Sam. They defeated their Maltese opponents in under 15 minutes, winning 21-3, 21-2.

Later today Sam Magee will return to court with his brother Joel. They face Belgian opposition in the Men's Doubles quarter finals.

After the heroics of the Irish boxers in recent days, Brendan Irvine returns to the ring to fight for gold. The Belfast fighter faces Russian Bator Sagaluev in the Men's Light Flyweight final.

In basketball, the women's 3x3 team face the Czech Republic today in the eighth finals. The team of Niamh and Grainne Dwyer, Suzanne Maguire and Orla O'Reilly will be looking to build on yesterday's win over Slovakia.

In swimming, Emma Reid and Rachel Bethel have reached the semi finals of the Women's 100 metre Freestyle and 200 metre Butterfly respectively. They will be joined by Mona McSharry and Danielle Hill in the Women's 4x100 metre Individual Medley final. They qualified as eighth quickest for the final.
