The 152nd Open will be played at Royal Troon in 2023, a century after hosting golf’s original major for the first time.
The famed links course in South Ayrshire will play host to its 10th Open, to mark the first time the tournament first came to Troon in 1923.
Henrik Stenson triumphed over Phil Mickelson the last time The Open was held at Royal Troon in 2016.
Stenson joined Arthur Havers, Bobby Locke, Arnold Palmer, Tom Weiskopf, Tom Watson, Mark Calcavecchia, Justin Leonard and Todd Hamilton as Open champions on the classic course.
