Rory McIlroy says he is confident his season will get even better in the next few weeks.
The Northern Irishman finished a disappointing 27th in his latest PGA Tour event in America.
He has had three Top 10 finishes in eight starts but no wins thus far.
McIlroy told Sky Sports News that he is making too many basic errors in amongst some good performances.
"If I can get rid of those mistakes and play some of the golf that I have been playing, there's no reason why I can't go on and contend a lot of weeks this year," he said.
The first major of the year is the Masters at Augusta - the only one McIlroy is yet to win - which tees off in two weeks time on April 7th.
