The PGA is set to add the substance Meldonium to its banned substances list in the wake of Maria Sharapova's announcement that she failed a drugs test.
The tennis start held a press conference on March 7th in Los Angeles where she admitted to failing a test the banned substance Meldonium, which she had been taking since 2006.
Sharapova has since found that a number of her sponsors have parted ways with her, and while she may still compete at the Olympics later this year, many are predicting a lengthy suspension that could bring an end to her career.

As a result of Sharapova's admission, the PGA tour is set to take a look at their own list of banned substances, which differs from that of the World Anti-Doping Agency.
Andy Levinson, the PGA Tour’s vice president of tournament administration and anti-doping, told Golfweek that the banned substances list was revised and issued in October of 2015, before Meldonium was added to the WADA list on January 1st of this year.
Given that Meldonium was on the watch list at that stage, he stated "that substance was not added to the PGA Tour Anti-Doping Program in the October 2015 revision".
However, he added that "it will be added to the next revision", which is expected to take place in October of this year.
