Pebble Beach the first stop on Paul Dunne's PGA Tour

Paul Dunne will make his PGA Tour debut in next month's Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California.

The 23-year-old has been given an invitation to take part in the tournament alongside fellow Irishmen Pádraig Harrington and Shane Lowry as well as Phil Mickelson, Jason Day and Bubba Watson at Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Monterey Peninsula Country Club's Shore Course from February 11-14.

"It's an exciting opportunity for me to play in a world-class field on one of the world's best golf courses," said Dunne.

The Greystones native will be part of this year's European Tour after earning his Tour card at Q-School in November.

Dunne has no other PGA Tour invitations, but will make his 2016 debut on the European Tour starting at the BMW SA Open next week and Joburg Open the following week.

Dunne is the only Irish player currently entered in the BMW SA Open field. He will, however, be joined in the Joburg Open by Kevin Phelan and Ruaidhri McGee and Peter Lawrie.
