Padraig Harrington will play no part in this weekend's FedEx St. Jude Classic after suffering an elbow injury whilst on the course.
The three-time Major winner will miss out after he was struck on the elbow by the practice swing of an amateur he was coaching.
"Thankfully nothing was broken, just 6 stitches," he tweeted. "I thought it was the end of me playing competitive golf.
"I'll only be out for 12 days or so to let stitches heal."
He added: "There's no truth in the rumour that it was the amateur's best strike of the day."
Harrington continues his return from a neck injury and competed in last weekend's PGA Memorial Tournament. He finished tied for 31st and on a score of -1.
