Can San Antonio Spurs get revenge on the Miami Heat?

Listen to the full interview above via the podcast

So for the second year in a row, the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs will face off in the NBA finals.

In 2013, it was LeBron James' Heat that came out on top in a tense seven-game series and this time they are looking for a three-in-row.

But they face a tough challenge against Spurs, who have been the most consistent side in the NBA since 1999 with 11 Division titles , six Conference titles and four NBA titles in a team long built around a core of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.

But can they stop the megastars from Miami in the upcoming finals series.

Tonight we were joined by Slam! Magazine's Ryan Jones who thinks it is hard to call.

"I think it's going to be a very good series. I've been going back and forth with people on this about how it's impossible to have a real sense of what's going to happen in this series," said Jones, who also ran the rule over two rosters that have not changed majorly since last year's finals.

Jones reckons Spurs will be more battle-hardened because the road from the Western Conference is more rocky than in the East. But he expects Miami to raise their level to an extent.

Jones also spoke about the narrative of legacies involving veteran Duncan, as well as James' place in the pantheon of the greats.  There is also a sense that the Miami Heat are coming towards the end of their run at the top and Jones spoke about the rumours that James will leave the Heat.
