Michael Bisping expects Conor McGregor's unorthodox movement to trouble Floyd Mayweather

UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping expects Conor McGregor's unorthodox movement to cause Floyd Mayweather problems when they face-off in August.

The Dubliner is due to meet the greatest defensive boxer of his generation, Floyd Mayweather, in a bout in Las Vegas in August.

The fight has been ridiculed by some who see it as a complete mismatch given Mayweather is an undefeated five-division champion while McGregor has never boxed professionally.

Recently leaked footage of McGregor sparring with the unheralded Chris Van Heerden has done little to quell suggestions the bout will be nothing more than a lopsided decision win for Mayweather.

Michael Bisping also sees it as a mismatch but the more he thinks about it, the Irishman's style could prove problematic for the American.

Speaking on MMA Talk, the current middleweight champion said: "It's because he's so unorthodox in his movement so I was kind of thinking 'well, maybe that will work for Conor vs Floyd' because Conor will move differently than Floyd's expecting him to. He won't follow the rules, if you will, in terms of boxing.

"He won't move exactly like a boxer and you never know, he might land that big shot because Conor can land a big shot."
