Mark English and Rose-Anne Galligan make up the Irish team bound for Portland, Oregon to take part in the World Indoor Championships.
English has been selected in the 800m, while Galligan will compete in the 1,500m at the championships which run from March 17th-20th.
The three day event will see UCD's English hoping to add to his brace of medals from the European outdoors in 2014 and indoors last year. He currently holds a seasonal best of 1.46.99.
This time was shy of the official qualifying time, but he did qualify under the IAAF athlete quota scheme.
Galligan also set a season's best of 4.11.07 at the Athlone International.
“It is a small but elite team for the World Indoors due to the European Championships and Olympic Games this summer," Athletics Ireland high performance director Kevin Ankrom told The Irish Times.
"Mark is a championship racer and we expect him to do well in Portland. Rose-Anne has wintered well and it will be good for her 800m development.”
