Leona Maguire has captured the British Ladies Amateur Golf Championship, following a 3&2 victory over Spain's Ainhoa Olarra.
Maguire had the better start to the matchplay final on Saturday, with four birdies on the front nine to open up a three-hold lead on the turn.
Birdie-pars on the 11th and 12th allowed her to extend that to a four-hole lead coming into the final six holes. Despite a birdie on the 15th for Olarra to cut the deficit back to two, Maguire held on for the win with another par shot on the 16th hole.
22-year-old Maguire follows the example of Stephanie Meadow, who previously won the tournament in 2012.
