LeBron James "unfollows" the Cavs on Twitter amid claims he is unhappy in Cleveland

Sport in 2016 is a funny business.

It was revealed on Monday afternoon that LeBron James has "unfollowed" the Cleveland Cavaliers on both Twitter and Instagram. The news caused havoc in American sports media as the question on whether one of the game's most popular players was to leave his local team for the second time.

James could become a free agent this summer and signal his intention to leave the Cavaliers. He is currently signed a two-year $47 million contract.

Joe Vardon is a sports reporter with Cleveland.com and follows the Cavs around America. After Monday night's game with Denver where James helped his side to a 124-91 win, Vardon asked the star about his Twitter activity to which the 31-year-old simply replied "next question".

According to Vardon, James unfollowing the Cavs is simply part of "Zero Dark 23". The four-time NBA MVP simply unfollows multiple basketball accounts as he prepares for the NBA Playoffs.

James is one of the most savviest athletes in the world on social media. Despite his preparations for the forthcoming Playoffs, James knew the hassle his actions may cause.

The team reached last year's finals and are currently the best team in the Eastern Conference. Despite the recent successes, James seems to be unhappy in Ohio.
