The NBA All-Star game is one of the highlights of the American sporting year, and on Sunday night it said goodbye to one of the legends of the game.
LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant is to retire at the end of the season after almost 20-years in the NBA. The 37-year-old has been a long way away from the form that won him five NBA titles, but was voted onto the Western Conference team by the fans for one last swansong with the best players in the league.

Bryant only scored ten points in the game, but that was not enough to detract from a night where he was one the the stars of the show. He was even given a standing ovation from fans, players, and coaches as he left the court for the final time in an All-Star game.

The West beat the East 196-173 in the traditionally high-scoring contest. Russell Westbrook won the MVP award for the second year in a row as the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard scored 31 points. He also recorded eight rebounds, five assists, and five steals in Toronto.
