Rio-bound Katie Taylor "still doesn't believe she qualified"

Katie Taylor showed no signs of the pressure getting to her ahead of sealing Olympic qualification according to Ireland coach Eddie Bolger.

The London 2012 gold medal winner missed a chance to qualify last month when she surprisingly lost to Azerbaijan's Yana Alekseeva in Turkey.

But the AIBA World Championships provided another opportunity to get to Rio and she sealed the deal by reaching the semi-finals in a dominant win over Mexico's Victoria Torres in Kazakhstan.

Bolger joined Off The Ball this evening and says the Bray boxer wore the pressure on her shoulders lightly.

"It was never really apparent to be honest. She's a very confident person and little glitches happen along the way. Once we remained within the process, we had a plan. The pressure, you deal with it and she's a very quiet, introverted person. So we took one fight at a time and didn't look too far behind - actually she still doesn't believe she qualified. She still thinks she's waiting on the result to be honest. The pressure wasn't apparent really. We all had confidence in her," he said.

"If there's one word to sum up Katie in this competition rather than the one in Turkey, is dominance."
