The Tánaiste has added her name to the list of people queuing up to congratulate Conor McGregor in the wake of his famous win on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Joan Burton described his win, which came within 13 seconds as he claimed UFC World Featherweight Championship, as well as his journey to the top of the UFC as a "fantastic story".
Speaking to Beat 102, she said McGregor was "somebody that has come to the fore in a very challenging area of sport, and all those fans who went to Las Vegas, what was it about 13 seconds? It must have been over in the blink of an eye, but I wish him well".
