Donegal's Jason Quigley is looking ahead to a winter return to the ring after undergoing successful surgery on his right hand.
Quigley, 26, picked up the injury in the second round of his NABF middleweight title victory over Glen Tapia in March.
The Finn Valley boxer earned his first professional belt with a unanimous decision victory over the American and fought with an injured hand for eight of the 10 rounds.
The LA-based fighter has amassed a perfect record of 13-0 during his time as a professional.
"I hope to be back at the end of the year," he told Ocean FM. "I want to be punching by September and I hope to be back in the ring by November or December.
"So for me, it's about being patient, taking time and getting the recovery that I need. I'm still young. I don't drink, I don't smoke.
"I don't mess about, so I'll have a long career if I need it."
