"At the start it was very lonely" - Jason Quigley on how LA life has become a perfect launchpad

On Saturday, Jason Quigley continued the unbeaten streak to his pro boxing career as he defeated James de La Rosa in Las Vegas.

The Donegal fighter, a former European Amateur gold medal and World Amateur silver medal winner, is now 11-0 since going pro in 2014 and as he begins to make his ascent, the future now lies in Los Angeles as he explained to Off The Ball tonight.

The 24-year-old Ballybofey-born middleweight and Super Middleweight admits the transition to life on the US West Coast was difficult at first.

"Of course at the start it was very lonely. It was just training and training and very lonely in a kind of boring setup," he says.

But that phase is over as he forms close-knit bonds with people in LA and he says that it's taught him more about himself than just boxing.

"I'm really starting to enjoy my life out here now for sure," he said, "I'm not only learning boxing, I'm learning in life in general, you know ... life experiences that are going to stand with me forever. This isn't just me growing as a fighter, I'm growing as a person and everything out here.

And in terms of his pro career and dreams of becoming world champion, it's also boosted him.
