Ireland's McDonald wins bronze at the IPC Swimming World Championships

Irish Paralympian Darragh McDonald has claimed a bronze medal at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Glasgow.

After winning his heat this morning, McDonald was actually slightly slower in tonight's S-6 400m Freestyle final, but still claimed a spot on the podium in a time of 5 minutes 12.61 seconds.

McDonald's 13-year-old team-mate, Nicole Turner claimed an impressive 5th place finish in the S-6 400m Freestyle Final in what was her first appearance in a World Championship final.

McDonald previously won gold at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London for the 400 metre freestyle, as well as winning the same hue of medal at the 2013 World Championships.
