After breaking his foot while sparring, Rafael Dos Anjos is unavailable to accept Conor McGregor UFC Lightweight title challenge at UFC 196.
And while Mystic Mac is understandably devastated with the news, the Crumlin native is willing to take on any opponent in the octagon.
Speaking to Yahoo Sports, UFC President Dana White revealed Conor's impassioned reaction to the news.
''When we told Conor, he said, 'Come on! This [expletive] guy! Oh my God! He's pulling out?' But when we went through the options, he said he'd fight any of them.''
"I swear to God, he said, 'I'll fight anyone.' He just doesn't give a [expletive]. People talk about this strained relationship between us and Conor, and he has a different style than I've ever seen, but I have never seen anyone like Conor. The closest was Chuck Liddell, but we've never had one like Conor. You think he's not hurt? But when he says he's going to fight, he's going to fight no matter what."
White also confirmed that regardless of the identity of the replacement candidate, this will remain the main event on the fight card and will also remain in the 155 pound category. It is yet to be determined if this will be an interim championship fight.
The women's bantamweight title fight between Holly Holm and Miesha Tate will stay as the co-main event according to White.
Several fighters are volunteering themselves to be McGregor's challenger with Donald Cerrone, Nate Diaz and Frankie Edgar among those touted to be chosen. Edgar's coach Ali Abdelaziz however, says his fighter can't fight due to injury.
