Ronda Rousey has broken her silence after her shock loss to Holly Holm in Melbourne in the early hours on Sunday morning.
Rousey was previously unbeaten in her professional career, before she was knocked out 59 seconds into the second round of her fight with Holm.
She took to her Instagram account this morning to break her silence after the loss. It was the first time she spoke publicly after the fight. She failed to show up at the post fight press conference as she was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for a split lip.
"I just wanted to thank everyone for the love and support. I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I'm fine. As I had mentioned before, I'm going to take a little bit of time, but I'll be back."
Holm's win is regarded as one of the biggest shocks in the history of mixed martial arts. UFC President Dana White has already stated that Rousey is entitled to an automatic rematch when she returns to action.
