Graeme McDowell is on 2-under after his second round at the Fed Ex St Jude Classic in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Northern Irishman had carded a 69 on Thursday's opening day and repeated the same score on Friday.
McDowell started badly on the back nine with four bogeys and a double bogey on the 12th from his first nine holes.
Two birdies in those first nine holes reduced the setback and he was able to shine on the front nine as he finished his round.
Six birdies and just one bogey saw McDowell turn his form around completely.
USA's Chez Reavie leads on 9-under after an excellent 65 followed up yesterday's 66.
He is one shot clear of compatriot Stewart Cink.
Meanwhile on the European Tour, Ireland's Gary Hurley has missed the weekend at golf's Lyoness Open in Austria.
A 2-over par round of 74 has seen the Waterford man finish up on 5-over.
