Fiona Doyle has finished in fourth place in the final of the Women's 100m Breaststroke at the European Championships in London.
After only scraping into the final as the eighth fastest, Doyle produced an outstanding swim to touch the wall in 1:07:76 to narrowly miss out on a podium finish behind Ruta Meiluttye of Lithuania
Also tonight, Shane Ryan will return to the pool for the semi-finals of the Men's 50-metre Backstroke at around 7.50pm.
The American-born swimmer posted the fifth-fastest time in this morning's heats, with another new national record of 25.19 seconds to add to the Irish record he broke in the 100-metre Backstroke earlier in the week.
Also this morning, Sycerika McMahon placed second in her heat of the Women's 200-metre Individual Medley, but in a time not fast enough to progress to the semis.
