Communal showers and people's views on them was a topic of conversation on today's Moncrieff Show, and that's something former sprint hurdler Derval O'Rourke has an opinion about.
The National Dairy Council symposium ambassador Derval O'Rourke joined Sean on the show and before the subject of cheese came up, they discussed the pros and cons of communal showers.
"When I'm in the gym, I train and then I just want to get home and have a nice shower, nice towels and my own shampoo, conditioner and be in my house," she said.
But the 35-year-old also shared an observation from her athletics days.
"If I was racing in a foreign country, I'd just go back to the hotel after the meet. But I think it's an Irish thing because I remember when I started travelling, you'd room with an Irish girl and you'd just be walking around normally with your clothes on.
"Then if you roomed with a foreign girl, they'd just walk around naked. And I used to be like 'What in the name of God is this?' But I think it's an Irish-foreign thing, naked-not-naked. It's not based on science, it's just a theory."
