UFC President Dana White says Conor McGregor is "supremely confident" of beating boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.
Mayweather has come out of retirement for the big money bout at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 26th.
Both men will reportedly earn at least $100 million for the 154 pound contest.
Despite never boxing professionally before, White believes two weight UFC champion McGregor can trouble Mayweather in the ring
"Can Conor McGregor hit Floyd Mayweather in a 12 round fight. I believe the answer is yes," he said.
"He will hit him and every time Conor McGregor touches people with his hands, they go to sleep. If they agreed to fight and just fight, Floyd Mayweather wouldn't last 10 seconds with Conor McGregor.
"Conor McGregor is actually going to go into a boxing match and box Floyd Mayweather, so that's why people love this kid."
Speaking to Off The Ball on Thursday night, former Irish Olympic boxer Kenneth Egan did not rate McGregor's chances of shocking Mayweather at his own game.
"Conor can go back to MMA and resume his career as an MMA fighter, which he's very, very good at it...but as a boxer, I've watched the clips of him sparring and his chin is sky-high, his feet are very poor. He has a great left hand, don't get me wrong but Mayweather is going to see that from a mile away," he said.
