For the first time since he conceded defeat to Joe Duffy in 2010, Conor McGregor was forced to tap-out once again at UFC 196 after Nate Diaz wrapped him up in a rear naked choke.
The World Featherweight champion spoke valiantly after the bout and told UFC commentator Joe Rogan ''it is what it is'' and congratulated Nate Diaz for accepting the fight, just 11 days out from the fight. He also spoke defiantly in the post-fight press conference about his willingness to accept defeat as well as his intentions to return to the Featherweight division to defend his crown.
And McGregor maintained that brave face for the after-party in the otherwise cruelly named 'Surrender' nightclub as he posed for selfies and engaged with the droves of fans who came to support their bruised idol.

McGregor has an active online persona and he took to social media in the aftermath of the bout to reiterate his desire to recover from this disappointment.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
I stormed in and put it all on the line. I took a shot and missed. I will never apologize for taking a shot.Shit...
