Following Amir Khan's devastating defeat to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez last night, UFC star Conor McGregor has tweeted out his support to the British boxer.
Khan moved to welterweight, two weight divisions above his last bout, to fight Alvarez, and they went toe to toe for five rounds before the Mexican boxer finished it in the sixth with a right hand.
Usually a divisive figure in the boxing world, 'King' earned plenty of plaudits for his performance despite the loss, one of which was from Irish fighter McGregor, who undertook a similar challenge back in March as he jumped up two weight classes to fight Nate Diaz at UFC 196.
Respect to Khan.
Most established fighters these days look down the divisions for a fight.
