Conor McGregor has confirmed that he is not retiring and still hopes to fight at UFC200 in a statement released on his Facebook page.
The UFC featherweight champion had sparked speculation on Monday when he tweeted his intention to "retire young", only for the UFC president Dana White to later explain that the Dubliner was pulled from UFC200 because he refused to fly to Las Vegas as part of promotion for a July rematch with Nate Diaz.
In his statement today, McGregor states his intention to put training and preparation above the promo side of the fight game as he builds towards the Diaz fight with a training camp in Iceland.
"It is time to be selfish with my training again. It is the only way. I feel the $400million I have generated for the company in my last three events, all inside 8 months, is enough to get me this slight leeway. I am still ready to go for UFC 200," he said, before adding, "For the record also - For USADA and for the UFC and my contract stipulations - I AM NOT RETIRED."
