Céire Smith and Christina Desmond have both won their preliminary round bouts today at the Olympic qualifiers in Turkey.
Smith is through to the quarter-finals of the flyweight division after she comfortably defeated her Hungarian opponent while Cork middleweight Desmond upset the top seed Nouchka Fontijan of the Netherlands.
The duo are now just two fights away from qualifying for the Olympics as only the finalists in each division will secure a spot at Rio 2016.
However, there was disappointment for light-welterweight Dean Walsh, who narrowly beaten on a split decision by Lorenzo Sotomayor of Azerbaijan and the Wexford native now has just one more chance of Olympic qualification later this year.
Katie Taylor, Dean Gardiner and Brendan Irvine will be in action later this evening.
Reigning Olympic champion Taylor is in the ring at 5pm to take on Martina Schmoranzova of the Czech Republic.
