Bernard Dunne fancies Carl Frampton to triumph but "wouldn't be surprised" if Quigg wins

Bernard Dunne believes IBF super bantamweight champion Carl Frampton is in another league to his upcoming opponent Scott Quigg when it comes to boxing ability.

Bernard joined us on Off The Ball to preview the Saturday fight against the WBA champion Quigg and feels Belfast boy Frampton comes out on top under the rubric of pure ability.

"When it comes down to sheer skill and actual proper boxing ability, I don't think he's in the league of Carl, I really don't," he said.

"In terms of experience of boxing - even as an amateur - Quigg has very little. But what he does have - and I've said this all along - I don't think Quigg is exceptional. I don't think he has any real boxing qualities. What he is, is he's really good at everything. He has no real weaknesses. He's a solid, solid fighter."

But, as for question marks over weight for Frampton, Dunne says that could become a factor later in the bout.

"If he does have weight issues and he's going in against a guy like Scott Quigg who has got a good engine on him and can go forever. The latter stage of the fight could be very, very interesting if that is the case," he said.

Thus, Bernard is tipping Frampton to win the early rounds but that Quigg's durability could become a growing factor as the fight goes on.

And he also added that "as much as I fancy Carl to win, I wouldn't be surprised if Quigg goes and wins the fight".
