Arthur Lanigan-O'Keeffe claims "the motivation has never been so strong" ahead of Rio 2016

European Champion Arthur Lanigan-O'Keeffe could become one of Ireland's stars of this summer's Olympic Games.

The Kilkenny native won the European Championships in Bath last year to qualify automatically for Rio 2016. He was a late qualifier for the London Olympics in 2012 where the then 20-year-old finished in 25th place.

Over the past number of months, we have shown you Arthur's journey to Rio through his excellent video blog. Earlier this week we showed action from the Hungarian Indoor Championships where Arthur was in action despite suffering from the flu earlier this month.

He has been training this week in Millfield School in England as his preparations continue. He was based at the school before the European Championships with coach Tristian Paris and returned to sharpen his skills. The training camp also included members of the Irish team and South African training partner Calvin Bradley.

In what can only be a positive news for the coming months, the 24-year-old stated that "I'm just loving where I am at the moment."
