Another medal for the boxers in Baku

The Irish boxers have won another medal at the European Games. Belfast's Sean McComb won his quarter final in the Lightweight division against Turkey's Yasim Yilmaz. It's Ireland's second guaranteed medal of the games after Brendan Irvine was victorious yesterday.

Olympian Adam Nolan is in action this evening looking to reach the medal stages. The Welterweight fights Britain's Josh Kelly in the quarter finals. There was disappointment for Dean Walsh. He lost to Germany's Kastriot Sopa in the Light Welterweight quarter finals.

The swimming competition began today at the Games. 12 Irish swimmers were in action with two reaching this evenings semi finals. Sligo teenager Mona McSharry has reached the Women's 50m Breaststroke semi finals. She qualified 14th fastest this morning.

McSharry will be joined in the pool this evening by Emma Reid. The Down swimmer qualified 16th fastest to reach the Women's 200m Butterfly semi finals.

In badminton, Chloe Magee won her first match of the Women's singles. She defeated Latvian Kristine Sefere, two games to nil. Thats now one win from two for Magee in Group F.

She joined her brother Sam in the Mixed Doubles this morning to make it two wins from two in Group A defeating their Lithuanian opponents. Sam and his brother Joshua, looking for their first win, play Portuguese opponents later today in the Men's Doubles.

Men's top seed Scott Evans is looking to make it two wins from two later today. He faces Belgian Yuhan Tan in a top of the table match in Group A. 17 year old duo Rachael Darragh and Sara Boyle are also looking for their first win at the Games. They face a French duo later this afternoon in the Women's Doubles.

In basketball, the Irish Women's 3x3 side get their campaign underway against Slovenia in Pool C.
