"I'd had the Ferrero Rocher and Oreo, two big scoops - she said 'two large, or two small' - and I said large".
Ice cream is the answer to how Andrew 'Beef' Johnston prepared on the eve of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open at Portstewart as the man himself confirmed on Off The Ball.
The Englishman has emerged as one of the real characters on the European Tour and as one can guess, he's pretty relaxed.
"I'd gone to the pub beforehand, had some dinner, had a Guinness but obviously we've got to play so I only had a couple and then had a stroll, got an ice cream and went to bed," he told the lads down at Portstewart.

And as for his nickname, habit would suggest that he doesn't necessarily answer to 'Andrew' first and foremost: "All my good friends at home call me 'Beef'. The only one that doesn't is my Mum."
The Londoner, who finished his opening round on 1-under, has had a whirlwind few months as he has risen to prominence both in Europe and the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.
"It's been crazy. It took a while to adjust to spending time signing stuff and spending my time right. I got that right and then going to America was difficult. I didn't see my coach much and I fell into bad habits out there. It was difficult," he admitted, adding that he just wasn't playing well until he got some time with his coach ahead of Wentworth, form picked up and he ended up qualifying for the US Open.
Ideally, he also hopes to split his time between the US and Europe in future and is loving the fervent support from the crowds at events.
