Ireland have started the Andy Farrell era with a 19-12 win over Scotland at the Aviva Stadium.
It wasn't the match many expected as Ireland had to battle hard to see out victory - Scotland's own indiscipline helping them along the way.
While all eyes were on 21-year-old debutant Caelan Doris prior to the match, it was Ireland's older guns – notably CJ Stander and Johnny Sexton – who starred to get Ireland off to a winning start in this year's Six Nations.

If Ireland give Wales the same sort of access to their '22 next week they'll be in real trouble.. How Scotland are still behind is a mystery

Hogg won't be happy with that.
He knew immediately.
At least they had the pen.
Christ.

John Cooney has been all-action since coming on. Much needed spark.

Andy Farrell looks like a lad in Vegas who is after winning at the roulette table every time Ireland win a penalty. This is the energy we needed.

Big defensive display from Ireland. Scotland made 11 trips to the '22, spending almost six minutes there and they only managed six points.
A lot to work on from a tactical and technical point of view, but they'll take a winning start to the new regime— Rúaidhrí O'Connor (@RuaidhriOC) February 1, 2020
Gotta hand it to Scotland just when I think they’ve run out of way to torment me they serve up a new captain dropping the ball unopposed over the line#IREvSCO

CJ.
Shut critics up from the beginning.
Yeah, we could have drawn the game if Hogg touched down properly; even lost.
But CJ emptied himself for the cause in a manner that quieted critics.#IREvSCO— The Loose Head (@TheLooseH) February 1, 2020
