Former captain Kevin Nolan joins coaching staff at West Ham

Kevin Nolan has agreed to join West Ham’s coaching staff to work alongside manager David Moyes.

Nolan played for the Hammers from 2011-2015 and was captain when the club won promotion back to the Premier League in 2012 via the playoffs.

The 37-year-old has already had a couple of spells as a manager when he was in charge of Leyton Orient of Notts County in League Two.

Paul Nevin is also joining the coaching team having previously worked as a First Team Coach at Brighton under Chris Hughton.

Nevin was also part of Gareth Southgate's England coaching staff up until the 2019 UEFA Nations League finals.

Moyes told whufc.com: “We welcome Kevin and Paul to the Club and look forward to working with them. Both have a wealth of experience in the game and I’m sure they will make a very positive contribution between now and the end of the season.

“Kevin obviously knows the club very well having played here previously, while Paul’s coaching pedigree is excellent.

"It has taken some time to finalise the coaching staff, but I wanted to make sure I brought in the right people to help us, and both Kevin and Paul are fantastic additions.

"They will get working right away and we are all completely focused on the job we need to do in the coming weeks and months."

The Hammers are in the relegation zone in the Premier League and their next two games are away to second-placed Manchester City and league leaders Liverpool.
