The Allianz Hurling League Final preview

The hurling world was turned on its head last summer, but the usual suspects are back in the Allianz League final.

In a repeat of the 2013 decider, old rivals Kilkenny and Tipperary lock horns again this Sunday at Semple Stadium.

To preview the intriguing match, Ger and Diarmuid 'Gizzy' Lyng were joined on the line by Daithi Regan.

It's Kilkenny's to lose according to Daithi but thinks it is a massive game for Tipperary and that a bad defeat could leave "mental scars" for Eamon O'Shea's team.

"I think Tipp need to win it more than Kilkenny, I don't think there'll be any scars for Kilkenny if they lose," he said, highlighting the psychological blow it would cause given that they could face the Cats later in the summer on the back of a bad run against their biggest rivals.

"If you continuously lose to your arch enemy, it eats away at you!"

Gizzy feels that Tipp are starting "to couple their traditional style with a much more possession-oriented game." But he does not think they have developed to a level necessary to beat Kilkenny on Sunday.

Daithi believes the Cats are "in a very good place at the moment" and that they have made some slight tweaks to their style even if the fundamental approach remains the same.
