Cork football and camogie legend Rena Buckley has been named as the Croke Park/LGFA Player of the Month award for November.
Buckley was in sparkling form for her club Donoughmore as they landed the All-Ireland Junior Club Championship title on November 24.
During the month of November, 32-year-old Buckley was lethal in front of the posts, scoring a combined 1-13 in the All-Ireland semi-final and Final.
As Donoughmore advanced past the challenge of Meath and Leinster Champions Navan O’Mahonys at the All-Ireland semi-final stage, Buckley collected a personal haul of 1-6.
On All-Ireland Final day, seven points from the 11-time All-Star helped to see off the spirited challenge of Mayo opponents MacHale Rovers in front of a bumper crowd at Duggan Park in Ballinasloe.
Victory for Donoughmore meant that Buckley collected an incredible 21st All-Ireland medal, which was also her third at club level.
The dual player was a member of the Donoughmore teams that landed the All-Ireland Senior club titles in 2001 and 2003, before recently adding a Junior medal to her collection.
At inter-county level, Buckley is an 11-time TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship winner with Cork, while she also won seven All-Ireland Senior camogie medals with her county.
Buckley was presented with her award today by Ina Lazar, Sales Manager, The Croke Park, and she was joined at the presentation by parents Tim and Helen Buckley.
