'O'Flatharta said he was really happy with the performance. How can he say that?'

Ex-Meath midfielder Anthony Moyles reckons the sense of regret from the weekend will be more acute among the Laois ranks rather than Kildare.

The Leinster rivals played out a draw in the championship on Saturday and will have to go through a replay.

Moyles joined our own Joe Molloy and Colm 'Wooly' Parkinson on Off The Ball tonight to review the weekend's football and they started with Laois and Kildare's clash.

"I would imagine the Kildare dressing room was a much better dressing room than the Laois dressing room on Saturday night," he said.

"I think Laois kicked it away - not necessarily kicked it away - it wasn't like they had loads of chances. But they played absolutely fantastically well in the first half, controlled the game, cleaned out midfield. With a breeze, Kildare were taking short kick-outs because they knew the dominance of Quigley in midfield was over-powering them."

Ex-Laois footballer Wooly also felt his county should have won that match easily given the disarray among the Kildare ranks early on, and that the Lilywhites will not be as vulnerable next time out.

But there was one other aspect, he was not happy about, saying: "Tomas O'Flatharta said he was really happy with the performance. How can he say that? It wasn't a brilliant performance by Laois."

The lads also analysed Derry's win over Down and you can listen in full via the podcast:
