Mickey Harte is expected to remain in charge of Tyrone for another two seasons.
Harte's current agreement runs until the end of next season however The Irish News report that he wishes to extend it by another year.
They state that the management committee of the Tyrone county board will meet on September 6th to discuss the matter and are expected to ratify it.
The long-time manager has been in charge of the county's senior setup for over a decade, leading them to All-Ireland glory in 2003, 2005 and 2008, as well as multiple Ulster titles.
In the 2016 championship, Tyrone lost to Mayo in the All-Ireland quarter finals.
However they won National League Division 2 and were also crowned Ulster champions.
