Tipperary forward Michael Quinlivan is delighted at being awarded an All-Star but feels a couple more of his team-mates could have been in the team of the year.
The Clonmel Commercials clubman is only the second ever football All-Star recipient from the Tipp team in the history of the awards.
It's recognition of the Premier county's outstanding run to the All-Ireland football semi-finals.
Speaking to Off The Ball, the 23-year-old is grateful as the messages of congratulations rain in.
"It's nice to join that club. It's a huge honour," he said.
"It's nice to see the amount of people who are really happy for you because it does mean a lot.
"I've been really surprised by the amount of people who've wrote to you from nearly every social media platform available at this stage - just lads who've known me, played with me and you've people who are just delighted for Tipperary.
Quinlivan also felt some of his Tipp team-mates could have been in the running to make the All-Star team of the Year.
"Albeit, even when I found out this morning, I was still a small bit disappointed - I thought we could have snuck maybe one or two more. But it wasn't to be," he said.
In a year in which surprise packages enjoyed success in a range of different sports, that isn't lost on Quinlivan.
"It's been a strange year for a lot of things. You look at Leicester winning the Premier League, the Cavs breaking the duck in Cleveland. We kind of rode a small bit of that wave. It was said around the place that we never knew where it could take us if we believed in ourselves and we're starting to believe in ourselves now which is a good thing. It makes going into next year a hell of a lot easier when you're going back in training in the winter," he said.
"Reading about players who have been there and gone through the same sort of process that we were going through at the time obviously would have helped and there was a lot written about those teams. So it was fairly easy to see the characters who were involved and you start bringing a small bit of that home."
