Former Tyrone footballer Mattie McGleenan has been announced as the new manager of Cavan.
McGleenan, who played for Tyrone in the 1990s, has led Scotstown to the Monaghan County Championship in the last two years. The decision was unanimously ratified both management and county committees.
Cavan go into the 2017 season in Division 1. The Ulster side finished second in Division 2 to be promoted to the top tier.
McGleenan replaces Terry Hyland, who spent more than four years in charge of the team. Hyland led the team to two Ulster semi-finals. In 2013, the team reached the All-Ireland quarter-finals, before eventually losing to Kerry.
Cavan's Division 1 campaign starts on February 5th next year at home to All-Ireland champions Dublin.
