Manchester United jump to 7th after 3-1 victory against Brighton

Manchester United rise to 7th after a 3-1 victory against Brighton earlier today in Old Trafford.

Ole Solksjaer's side re-established their current Premier League resurgence with a decisive victory over Graham Potter's side.

United jump seven places in the league table after last weekend's 1-0 loss to Bournemouth.

United looked back to their old self with spells of persistent attacking football and high pressure. Solskjaer praised his side's performance, continuing on from their 3-0 win over Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League last Thursday.

United opened the scoring on the 17th minute when Andreas Perreira fired in a shot from an Anthony Martial pass.

Ole Solksjaer's side only maintained 44% of possession throughout the duration of the game but added to the Brazilian's first after a teasing free-kick from Fred was accidentally bundled in to the net by Davy Proper just two-minutes after Perreira's first.

Brighton and Hove Albion subbed Irish teenager Aaron Connolly for Glenn Murray at half-time. The 'Seagulls' punished Manchester United on the 61st minute with a Lewis Dunk header from close range but conceded just two minutes later down the other end.

United's Marcus Rashford completed the scoring on the 68th minute when the united striker planted a right-foot shot in to the bottom corner from the centre of the box. Antony Martial with another assist for the Red Devils.

The three points takes the Lancashire based club to 7th in the Premier League table, tabling their fist win in their last four Premier League outings.

The only negative was an injury to Scott McTominay whole hobbled off the pitch after turning over on his ankle.

Manchester United now go to Bramall Lane after the international break to face the high-flying new boys Sheffield United.
