Kildare ratify Jack O'Connor appointment

Kildare GAA's county board have officially ratified Jack O'Connor as new senior football manager.

Ross Glavin and Tom Cribben have also joined the new backroom team as his selectors for a three-year term.

The new Lilywhites manager and his backroom team succeed Cian O'Neill, who had been in charge since 2015.

Tyrone eliminated O'Neill's side from the 2019 All-Ireland qualifiers. Meanwhile, their Leinster challenge ended at the hands of All-Ireland finalists Dublin at the quarter-final stage.

O'Connor's Record

O'Connor led Kerry to three All-Ireland titles across two spells as manager.

In his first spell, his sides lifted Sam Maguire in 2004 and 2006. He added the 2009 All-Ireland to his repertoire during his second spell in charge. O'Connor ended that four-year second spell in charge in 2012.

Since then he has managed the Kerry Minors as well as the Kingdom's Under-20 and Under-21 teams.

He led the Minors to back-to-back All-Ireland glory in 2014 and 2015.
