Kieran Donaghy was on Shot Clock on Thursday morning's OTBAM discussing Wexford's acquisition of Paul Galvin and what he will bring to the county.
Donaghy believes that the fellow Kerry icon will help bring the team together and help them achieve in the future.
“I think he’ll do a really good job with Wexford, they’re starting with a very low base but… I think Paul will have them playing together, he’ll certainly have ideas and he’ll certainly have an ethos in the way he plays but you know he’s already Galvin-ised the county!”
Donaghy also thinks that the new appointment can only be good news considering where Wexford are and the general atmosphere that Galvin will bring to the county.
“Everybody will want to play for Wexford next year because there’ll be a bit of a razzmatazz around it and I’m sure guys will want to play for a guy as intense and a guy who thinks about the game.
It’s only good for Wexford and Paul because there can’t really be much pressure on anybody in this situation. Wexford were well down in division four last year.”
The only worry for Donaghy is that Wexford's position will also mean a lot of work for Galvin and bit of time to get there but he does believe that they will become a more tight-knit unit in the process.
“He’s got a lot to work on, he’s got a lot to do and it could take a bit of time but he will get them playing for each other and he will get them fighting for each other, that’s for sure.”
