'There is a small bit of unease' - Dara O'Cinneide looks ahead to Kerry's campaign

Kerry legend Dara O'Cinneide admits there is some "unease" in the Kingdom ahead of their All-Ireland title defence.

Eamonn Fitzmaurice's side get their campaign underway against Tipperary this weekend and Fitzmaurice told Off The Ball that there are some worries.

"There is a small bit of unease in the sense that the last time we saw them was struggling for survival in Division 1," he said.

"The group are just back from a trip to Portugal where you'd expect they'd be ironing out the issues that would have arisen during the end of the league. It's been a hallmark of Fitzmaurice's reign in the three seasons that he has been there, he has managed to keep league and championship as two separate entities completely, much more so than any manager that I would have seen in Kerry.

"Kerry's poor league form has never filtered into the championship - not in the latter stages anyway. But the unease is that they are so late entering into the race and Tipperary is a coming force."

Looking through the 2015 panel, O'Cinneide expects Paul Geaney to have a big year for the Kingdom and hopes to see more from Kenmare Shamrocks half-forward Stephen O'Brien.

He also gave his take on the returning Colm 'Gooch' Cooper and Tommy Walsh, who he says "haven't been going flat out" in the club championships which is expected he said.

Tipp's U21 manager Tommy Toomey also joined us on the line and he admits that the Premier will be "up against it" despite highlighting the strides made by Tipperary, saying "Kerry are Kerry" and "elite".

He also suggested that a number of U21s will get a chance to shine for Tipp.
