'He offers something that Dublin fear' | Kevin Cassidy on Tommy Walsh

Tommy Walsh replaced Brian Ó Beaglaoich after 53 minutes during the All-Ireland final and while many pundits suggested he should have started the game, he still made an impact.

He scored a huge point to bring Kerry within one point of Dublin and helped link Kerry's attack when they were pushing the win late on.

According to former Donegal footballer Kevin Cassidy, Walsh should be starting in the replay on Saturday.

Speaking to Off The Ball he said, "Listen, If I was in his [Peter Keane's] position I would start Tommy Walsh because he offers something that Dublin fear.

"He's got the aerial ability and he's very good to show out in front as well," Cassidy said.

While he may think Walsh should start, some people in Kerry seem to have a different opinion.

X-factor

"During the course of filming the Underdogs this week, I was talking about it to Mickey Ned [O’Sullivan] and he felt they did the right thing.

"They didn't bring him on too early because Dublin would have been expecting him.

"You know, maybe they know more down in Kerry than we do but I would definitely start Tommy Walsh.

"To me, he has got that X-factor that can win the game for Kerry," the former Donegal wing-back said.

When it came to Kerry's young forward David Clifford, Cassidy felt the occasion of All-Ireland final day affected him last time out.

"He is still a very young fella and he is still learning at that level, but you expect from what we have seen in the past to slot those points over.

"He will be disappointed in himself, but until you're on that pitch, until you feel the heat coming on, you don't know how difficult it is.

"I would put it down to the intensity levels and the pressure of the whole game.  He's got an All-Ireland final under his belt and I'm sure he will be more confident going in next time," Cassidy said.
