GALLERY: Clare get the better of Roscommon in ill-tempered qualifier and all today's GAA action

There was plenty of GAA action around the country this afternoon, as the All-Ireland qualifiers rumbled on this afternoon.

Clare 2-12

Roscommon 1-9

Clare continued their good form to book a spot in the All-Ireland football quarter-final, as they ran out comfortable winners over Roscommon this afternoon.

An ill-tempered second half saw both sides reduced to 14 men and Clare for the second week in a row sent a Connacht side crashing out of the competition and did so from the position of underdogs.

Eoin Cleary kicked six points, three from the dead ball, and goals from David Tubridy and Jamie Malone secured another massive victory for the Munster side.

Tipperary 1-21

Derry 2-17

A late flurry of Conor Sweeney scores saw Tipperary edge a Derry in this evening's second game and sees them progress to the All-Ireland football quarter-final for the first time in their history.

Sweeney was part of an influential full-forward line, including Philip Austin and Michael Quinlivan, that helped guide the Munster side to victory.

Kevin O'Halloran's second-half goal proved vital after he capitalised on Thomas Mallon's slip. The clearance went straight into the arms of O'Halloran who made no mistake from close range.
