GAA waves the white flag due to the snow

It's proper order, and it's now confirmed that this weekend's Allianz National Hurling and Football League fixtures have been postponed due to Storm Emma and 'The Beast from the East'.

33 games will be affected as the national games fall victim to the snow, joining the League of Ireland fixtures, Munster's game in Edinburgh, the entire AIL rugby programme and the race meetings at Dundalk, Navan and Leopardstown on the postponed list.

The rescheduling means the National Hurling League Final will now take place on Saturday March 31st, the same day Munster play Toulon in the European Champions Cup.

A full revised GAA fixtures programme to cover the remaining rounds of the Allianz Leagues will be issued on Monday, March 5th.

Round 5 of the Allianz Hurling League will now take place next weekend (March 10th/11th).

The Division 1 Allianz Hurling League Quarter finals will move to the weekend of March 17th/18th and the semi-finals to the weekend of March 24th/25th.

Round 5 of the Allianz Football League - due to be played this weekend - will move to March 10th/11th.

Any alterations to the above will be confirmed by the GAA on Monday.
