All-Ireland football qualifiers draw: Mayo to play Armagh in round three

The draw has been made for the third round of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship qualifiers to take place next weekend, with Mayo to host Armagh in the glamour tie.

The matches will be staged next Saturday and Sunday, with the days, times and venues to be announced in due course.

Here are the fixtures:

Mayo v Armagh (Castlebar)

Kildare v Tyrone (Newbridge)

Westmeath v Clare (Mullingar)

And Laois v Offaly (Portlaoise)

With all matches to be decided on the day, the draw means that some of the top sides will be out of the Championship in a week's time.

Mayo will have to do it the hard way if they are to win the Sam Maguire Cup for the first time since 1951.

James Horan's team had a tough assignment in Newry, prevailing against Down on a scoreline of 1-16 to 1-11.

They will face an improving Armagh, who knocked out last year's semi-finalists Monaghan by 2-17 to 1-12.

Kildare will have fond memories of taking a big scalp in the qualifiers following the 'Newbridge or Nowhere' ambush of Mayo last year.

The Lilywhites had 14 points to spare over Antrim the weekend and welcome a Tyrone side that saw off Longford by 4 points.

It was a six point win for Westmeath over Limerick and they will entertain a Clare side that were better than Leitrim to the tune of 3 goals.

It was an impressive performance by Laois to knock out Derry by 2 points in Owenbeg, and it will be a great local derby against Offaly, now bossed by John Maughan.

The Faithful ended Sligo's Championship yesterday.
