Sunday is a crucial day for the Cork hurlers at this early juncture of the inter-county season.
John Meyler's team face a Division 1A relegation playoff against Munster rivals Waterford and Cork dual player Eoin Cadogan will be at the heart of those efforts to avoid demotion from the top division.
He joined Nathan on Wednesday night's show and focus is firmly fixed on the challenge this weekend.
"The only thing we can really focus on this week is the challenge which is Waterford and having beaten us a couple of weeks ago, it's not necessarily an ideal scenario but in saying that I think we saw the games this year, we've been quite competitive throughout so I think we're constantly learning and we're quite a young team and things are going in the right direction," he said.
"Whilst not necessarily wanting to be in relegation but things are definitely going in the right direction."
Beyond the league, the All Ireland hurling championship will be played out in a different format provincially as the round-robin comes in, providing regular games in a short period of time.
Cadogan spoke about the challenges and positives that brings for the players.
"I don't think it impacts negatively. At the end of the day, players want to be playing games," Cadogan said.
"Three Munster Championship games really in the space of three weeks, I suppose mentally you're going to have to actually park whatever, whether it be a victory or a defeat and move on pretty quickly. So I think a lot of teams will actually have to have their homework done prior to going into Championship because you have very little time to change and adapt with the three week window."
He added that the relevance of the league grows as a result as it provides a window to analyse opposition sides.
